What is a credit report?

Your credit report is a history of your borrowing and repaying of credit. Each item on a credit report is a detailed account of a line of credit or debt.

A credit report includes your sensitive information, like your full name, address, and date of birth. This information is used to identify you and maintain updated and accurate information about your financial history.

Credit reports are maintained by three independent businesses: Experien, Equifax, and Transunion
, and they are not required to share information with each other. In fact, a recent study indicated that as many as 79% of consumers found some sort of error or inaccuracy on one of their credit reports

It is very important that the information reflected in your credit report accurately represents you and your financial history.
