How do you move sites from one folder to another folder?

You can move sites in multiple ways:

Edit the site:

  • Go to your LastPass Vault
  • Click on the pencil/edit icon
  • Under 'Folder' use the dropdown menu to choose the folder you would like to move this site to
  • Click 'Save'

 

Drag and Drop*:

  • Go to your LastPass Vault
  • Click and hold on the desired site
  • Drag and drop the site and place it on top of the folder icon next to the Folder's name

 

Right Click*:

  • Go to your LastPass Vault
  • Right-click on the site
  • Choose 'Move to Folder'
  • In dropdown, choose the appropriate folder 
  • Click 'Change'

 

Moving multiple sites*:

  • Highlight multiple sites
    • To highlight multiple in a row, hold Shift and click the first and last site you wish to select
    • To highlight multiple not in a row, hold CTRL (Windows) or Command Key (Mac) and select each site
  • Use the above Right-Click Method

 

Moving an entire folder into another folder (subfolder):

  • Go to your LastPass Vault
  • Right-click on the folder
  • Choose 'Rename folder'
  • Choose the folder you wish to move to from the dropdown menu. Or type in the name of ther new top level folder you want to move it to.
  • Add a  \  (backslash) + the name of the subfolder.
  • If you are moving it to an already exisiting subfolder, enter in the name of the top level folder + \ + subfolder + \ + new subfolder name
    • Ex: Social\Facebook , Social\Facebook\John

 

*this will only work in the local Vault. To reach the local Vault, click on your LastPass Icon in your browser toolbar and select 'My LastPass Vault!'
