Why doesn't LastPass work on sites that ask for random characters of the passwords?

Websites that ask for random characters of your passwords tend to block all password managers. The right move is to complain bitterly to them for the following reasons:

  1. It is always less secure to only give a portion of your password to log in.

  2. It is guaranteed that the site stores your password in clear text. If it ever gets hacked, your password is compromised easily.

  3. It is less convenient for people to manually autofill on the website and it forces them to store their passwords insecurely.

Overall, this is a poor security practice as mentioned here: http://www.wired.com/2015/07/websites-please-stop-blocking-password-managers-2015/
