How can I re-enable LastPass Authenticator for my LastPass account?

Disable LPA entry on LastPass Account Settings

  1. Go to LastPass Account Settings > Multifactor Options > LastPass Authenticator > Edit > select No from the drop down menu next to Enabled.
  2. Click Update.

Remove LastPass entry on LPA to start over

  1. Launch LPA 
    • for iOS, tap Edit
    • for Android, long-press on the account you wish to remove
  2. Remove the LastPass entry within the app to minimize potential confusion later on

Pairing your mobile device and scan the QR code

  1. From LastPass Account Settings > Multifactor Options > LastPass Authenticator > Edit > select Yes from the drop down menu next to Enabled.
  2. Click Update button.
  3. Click Enroll button.
  4. Click Edit button within the 2nd step.
  5. On the "Set up backup text messages" page, submit a valid phone number to have the code sent to the backup phone via text SMS.
  6. Enter the code sent via SMS on the following page.
  7. Click Verify button.
  8. Click Edit button within the 1st step.
  9. Click Start Pairing Again button.
  10. You will be prompted to download LPA on your mobile device. Click Next to skip if you have already installed the app.
  11. Launch LPA on your mobile device and tap the red sign button within the app to scan code
  12. Scan the code on the website
  13. Click Activate button at the bottom and see the successful message.
  14. Click Done and then click OK to complete.

Note: If you're receiving an error message after scanning the QR code, please try to enable Notifications for the LastPass Authenticator app, located in your iOS settings > Notifications.
