How do I integrate LastPass Enterprise Reports with my Splunk account?

All available log messages in the Enterprise dashboard, such as login activity, password changes, and form fill attempts, will be passed to a Splunk Cloud instance, where you can then create custom reports using that data. This allows you to use the advanced functionality of Splunk Cloud to access and report on your LastPass Enterprise activity. To take advantage of this integration, you need a running Splunk Cloud instance with a configured Data Input as HTTP Event Collector.

Steps for Integrating Splunk with LastPass Enterprise

  1. Log in to your Splunk account
  2. Click on Menu > Data > Data Inputs > HTTP Event Collector (Add new).  If you already have an HTTP Event Collector token, skip to Step 4.
  3. Type in a name > Next > Review > Submit.  An HTTP Event Collector token will be generated
  4. Click on Menu > Data > Data Inputs > HTTP Event Collector > select Edit by your HTTP Event Collector token.
  5. In the Edit window: Source type > Select Source Type > Structured > _json > Save
  6. On the HTTP Event Collector webpage: Global Settings > All Tokens Enabled > Save
  7. Copy the HTTP Event Collector token
  8. Navigate back to https://lastpass.com/enterprise_options.php > Splunk integration and paste the HTTP Event Collector token into the "Splunk Instance Token" Field
  9. Navigate back to the web window with Splunk
  10. Copy the URL of your Splunk Instance URL (e.g. prd-p-c2758ei957r.cloud.splunk.com)
  11. Navigate back to https://lastpass.com/enterprise_options.php > Splunk integration and paste the HTTP Event Collector token into the "Splunk Instance URL" Field
  12. In the "Splunk Instance URL" Field, add :8088 to the end of the pasted URL (e.g. prd-p-c2758ei957r.cloud.splunk.com:8088)
  13. Click Update
  14. Log out and back in through the LastPass extension. The data integration will begin; it will take no more than 24 hours to complete, but it’s likely that it will take much less time.
