We Can Help

"Automatically logoff on browser close" is not respected in Chrome.

If Chrome does not close completely (exit) then 'Automatically logoff on browser close' will not work. When you click the 'x' to close the browser, this only closes the window, but sometimes does not completely exit the program. You can check whether Chrome is completely exited by going to Task Manager.

If Chrome is still running after clicking the 'x' to close the window, Chrome background apps might be enabled. To disable background apps, please follow the steps by Chrome Help here, also repeated below:

  1. Click the Chrome menu icon
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Click Show advanced settings.
  4. In "System" section, deselect "Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed" checkbox.

Alternatively, you can exit Chrome manually, by clicking the Chrome menu icon > select Exit.
