What is a credit alert?

A credit alert indicates that an item on your credit report has recently been added, removed, or changed.

This can be the result of a recent action that you took regarding your borrowing, such as opening a new credit card, purchasing a home or car, or taking out a loan.

If you have not recently taken any action which could affect your credit, it is possible that this can be an early indication of identity theft. This is why it is important to continuously monitor your credit report as a first step against fraud or identity theft on your credit file.

LastPass free credit monitoring alerts will provide you with a desktop alert and an email notification the instant a change to your credit file has been detected. To view detailed information on what changed and how to resolve issues, upgrade to LastPass Premium credit monitoring
If you are a Premium Credit Monitoring subscriber, you can call the Premium support line at 1-800-830-6680 for more details if needed.

You may also want to consider requesting your free annual credit report, as mandated by the FTC.
