Help! I think my account has been hacked!

If you're concerned your LastPass account may have been hacked, please do the following immediately:

  1. Kill all other active sessions via your LastPass Icon > Tools > Advanced Tools > Other Sessions
  2. Review your history in your LastPass Icon > My LastPass Vault > menu on the top right of the vault > History, and make note of any suspicious activity
  3. Ensure your account is restricted to only trusted locations in your LastPass Icon > My LastPass Vault > Settings, and remove any unknown or stolen devices from your LastPass Icon > My LastPass Vault > Settings > Mobile Devices and Trusted Devices tabs
  4. Update your master password via the LastPass Icon > My LastPass Vault > Settings
If your email address has been affected you may consider setting up a new account and updating your account email address in your LastPass Icon > My LastPass Vault > Settings
Start changing the passwords for sensitive accounts, like banking, email, and social media (use this article for help in generating new passwords: https://helpdesk.lastpass.com/features/generating-a-password/changing-the-password-for-a-stored-site-to-a-generated-password/)

 
***We suggest using antivirus and anti-malware software to run scans on your computer and remove all suspicious files.
 
*** If you haven't already, please enable a multifactor authentication: https://helpdesk.lastpass.com/security-options/multifactor-authentication-options/ for added security with your LastPass account.

***Keep an eye on your accounts, and consider enabling credit monitoring alerts: https://helpdesk.lastpass.com/features/lastpass-credit-monitoring/ so you are notified if there is suspicious activity on your credit report.
