The LastPass Metro App says 'Error logging into LastPass. Please try again. Please check your connection. You need to download your data once in order for LastPass to work offline.'

If you see the error

Error logging into LastPass. Please try again. Please check your connection. You need to download your data once in order for LastPass to work offline.

Please check the following:

  1. Double check that you are connected to the Internet and that the date and time is correct.
  2. Try accessing LastPass.com using your desktop browser. If you can, it likely means that something is blocking access to Metro apps specifcally:
    • Uninstall any Security Software (such as antivirus and firewalls). Then try the app again. If it starts to work, check with your security software provider for an update on the software
    • Try clearing the cache for the Windows Store:
    1. Windows Key + R
    2. Type WSReset.exe and hit enter

*Comodo Internet Security has a patch that fixes a problem it had with Metro Apps connecting to the Interent. If you use Comodo, try the solution here https://forums.comodo.com/firewall-help-cis/windows-81-problem-with-one-single-app-t103397.0.html;msg758507#msg758507
